Updated research info

My most recent talk is up in the research section, including a movie of the magnetic field due to the expanding laser-produced plasma.

New website

After two or three years, I decided to make this place a little more respectable. I don't enjoy writing gobs of PHP the way I used to, so it's a little more minimal. Also re-hosted is my side-project HDF5 for Python. New Sphinx-generated documentation made this a lot simpler.

While this won't become a blog, I hope to update it a bit more frequently than the old site. In the meantime feel free to look around.

Research section added

I've written a basic description of what I've been up to for the last four-odd years. Along with the publications are a couple of visualization movies.

See also a paper Walter put together for a recent IEEE issue on scientific visualization. 3D visualization, including commercial tools like Maya, are becoming an increasingly important part of the scientific process.
